I may not have posted this yesterday like I promised, but I’m sure the majority of you knew I would have this up eventually, yes? I hope so! Anyways, we’ve got another fine week of releases, including the latest from MF Doom (or just DOOM now), Röyksopp, The Decemberists, Harlem Shakes, and MSTRKRFT.

Also, not to be left out are the latest from some side projects including Swan Lake’s (Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade, Dan Bejar of Destroyer, and Carey Mercer of Frog Eyes) Enemy Mine and Fever Ray’s (The Knife’s Karin Elisabeth Dreijer Andersson) self-titled album.

decemberists

The Decemberists have a new record coming out in March (that and February look to be pretty busy months, huh?) entitled The Hazards Of Love.  They’ve released the first single titled “The Rake Song,” which you can hear for yourself below.

For some reason I wasn’t expecting to like this single from the new record.  I guess I was expecting the same ol’ schtick that i’ve heard since Castaways and Cutouts.  Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that this song had a little kick to it.  The stingy acoustic kicks things off before the percussion fiercely makes its presence known loud and clear.  Not a bad little track.
