The Daily Graboid is back to kick off the very first week of new releases on this newly minted year. Not exactly bursting at the seams with new stuff, but I didn’t really expect to see much of anything to be honest. Though, if vinyl is your preferred choice, there is something from those guys, you know, Animal Collective? Yeah them. Merriweather Post Pavilion, which is only available this week on deluxe vinyl, you’ll have to wait till January 20 for its release on cd/digital formats. I’ve yet to hear it, but I wouldn’t mind having a physical copy just for that album cover. So swirly…ahem.
Other releases that may tickle your fancy include the U.S. release of the self-titled album from Glasvegas, and The Brighton Port Authority aka Norman Cook/Fatboy Slim which is available exclusively on Amazon. I had actually never even heard of The BPA, but some of these tracks are pretty damn good with some great vocalists.
