Last year, Finnish duo Burning Hearts released one of, if not the most, overlooked album of 2009 with their debut, Aboa Sleeping. Consisting of nine finely crafted pop songs, the gorgeous instrumentation of this record coupled with the vocal warmth of vocalist Jessika Rapo makes this a record that just let’s you know that you’re listening to something special.
Too much is never a bad thing in this case, as Shelflife Records has announced a brand new 7″ single from the duo that is set to be releaesd later this month on the 26th. The single titled “Night Animal” has a hint of a very subdued Stereolab going for the track, and showcases just how good the duo continues to be with their song-crafting.

If there’s one album to recommend out of this week’s bunch, it would certainly be Aboa Sleeping from the Finnish duo Burning Hearts. It’s one of the better pop albums i’ve heard this year from beginning to end, which is a shame since the album isn’t getting nearly the amount of coverage that it deserves. You can read the preview post from a couple of weeks ago right here.
Other notable albums out this week include It’s Not Me, It’s You from Lily Allen, Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys’ Keep It Hid, Do May Say Think co-founder Charles Spearin’s The Happiness Project, and Wilco guitarist Nels Cline’s Coward.
