I've been listening to their album Weathervanes and I do think the hype is well-deserved. I plan to catch them this December in NYC but I have to admit, I'm more excited for Freelance Whales than Fanfarlo! That's a dope cover of "In the Aeroplane..." though. Up there with Matt Pond PA's. Not many bands could pull that off. I think the harmonies are what make it. The lead singer's got the voice for the song, but without the harmonies, it'd sound way, way too normal (they're not as chaotic and crazy sounding as NMH, which is a lot of what I associate with the original version of the song, music-wise). But the harmonies just sound so nice, and bring a new emotional perspective to the song. Nice. Damn, thats a daunting song to cover. Not many bands could pull that off.
