The Weekly Graboid
Posted by PJ in The Daily Graboid, The Weekly Graboid, The Yellow Stereo
After quite a long absence, the Graboid is back and this time around with a proper title. As much as I liked the original ‘The Daily Graboid’ title, in the grand scheme of things it just never really made much sense considering it had always been a weekly post. I’ve always meant to have the change eventually, but considering how long it’s been since I’ve last put this up, it just felt right to start back anew with this different title.
So with that being said, you can expect to see this every Tuesday since I know a lot of you actually do your music shopping on the actual day of releases. I know that I probably will now since I actually live near some record shops.
This week brings an abundance of excellent releases from the likes of Air, The Clientele, Kurt Vile, The Dutchess & The Duke, Mission to Burma, The Mountain Goats, The Raveonettes, and current blogger favorites The XX (my opinion on them has soften a bit, but I still don’t think they’re that great).
As always, if there is anything I may have missed, feel free to recommend it to us.

Now that it’s published monthly, the Daily Graboid is renamed Weekly Graboid. However, that doesn’t seem to be the only change. I can’t get any of the MP3s to download. They download as a 9kb html file which doesn’t play. Eventually I found the Yahoo music player on the left, but this didn’t work either “We are unable to play media on this page at this time. Refresh the page and try again.” Maybe it’s not made for a Mac, I prefer the old right click, download and play it in iTunes…
What is the deal?
It still works the same way, it’s just that sometimes the site will go down because my hosting is shit.
It’s not monthly by the way, I just haven’t posted it in a while because I’ve been busy. But, it will be weekly now.
I figured out the problem with the download links. Apparently, there was an extra ‘.com’ in the links, which resulted in it not working properly. Everything is fixed now, though. Sorry for the problems everyone.
Maybe this exposes me as one of those late-90s indie rockers, but Built to Spill has a new one today, and I’m loving it!
Yeah, I left off quite a few I realized. Built to Spill, Headlights, Noah and the Whale, Lou Barlow. I’ll update this later
The link to The Cinematics’ Love and Terror album stream isn’t up. Here you go! http://www.spinner.com/new-releases#/25
