Consequence of Sound posted a little something that mysteriously popped up on the ateaseweb message boards. I was skeptical- until I listened to it. It’s a slow-burning Radiohead track through and through, and once Thom’s vocals kick in, you know it’s them. No official word on the track, and the guys say there isn’t an album coming any time soon, but I believe this is the real deal. Maybe it’s a sign that they’re just planning to roll out some digital singles for a while…

i’m still a big album guy. this new age of downloadable one-hits scares me. i think very highly of bands that can create a whole album’s worth of material, somehow tie it together and let it represent who they are.
I think this is something Thom was doing for that Twilight sequel soundtrack. This makes me sad if it is.
Well, I don’t think Radiohead are going to abandon the album, but I’ve always been a big fan of their b-sides. To me, this sounds like something from the vaults, maybe a would-be b-side they never got around to releasing.
