ClienteleThe abundance of wonderful songs for summer continues with the opening track from The Clientele’s forthcoming fifth album Bonfires on the Heath, due out in early October on Merge.  Kind of a little cheery compared to a lot of band’s more recent output, most notably, the very great 2007’s God Save the Clientele.  It has a bit of a cheery jazz slant to it with the horns and guitar, along with Alasdair MacLean’s breathy vocals, who just sounds better than ever.

I’m curious if the rest of the record follows suit, but I guess we’ll have to wait and find out!  Though, Stereogum seems to say otherwise in regards to that statement.
