Midival Punditz hail from India, and while their music doesn’t necessarily sound like traditional Indian music, they let sounds from their home country and the whole world come together for their electronic music.  Their latest album, Hello Hello, is one of those albums that constantly brings together little bits of familiar and not-so-familiar sounds and makes them alternately danceable and chill. As I listened, I realized that this would be one of the groups that Thievery Corporation draws inspiration from, and at times it would fit nicely alongside music from Slumdog Millionaire. I personally can’t claim to have very much knowledge about India’s music scene, but I found this album to be a little unpredictable, from songs in Hindi to a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Four Sticks.” I’ve found this album to be a little more “European” sounding than their earlier stuff, so if you find yourself wishing for more Indian sounds than this album provides, you can definitely check out their earlier albums. For anyone looking for something a little out of the ordinary, you can stream the whole album at the link below, as well as find links to several stores where you can buy the music.
