Liechtenstein :: “Roses In The Park”
Posted by PJ in New, News, Previews, The Yellow Stereo, Upcoming, VideosSlumberland Records has been on quite the roll in 2009 — as they continue to bring the goods with the announcement of Liechtenstein’s debut LP, Survival Strategies In A Modern World. This Swedish trio proves once again that everything great seems to come out of Sweden, even of the fuzzy post-punk variety — a sound that they’ve managed to cultivate over the few years with their singles Stalking Skills and Apathy.
In a couple of weeks, the band will be begin a very short US tour of the East coast starting with this year’s NYC Popfest. Sadly no Southeast dates scheduled, but that’s understandable. Maybe someday in the future I’ll be able to see them. Anyways, check out “Roses In The Park” and learn more about the band from sites like Skatterbrain and All That Ever Mattered, who’ve been long-time Liechtenstein supporters and just great resources for good indiepop in general. Expect the debut LP to be released on June 9th on Slumberland, and May 26th on Sweden’s Fraction Discs.

Hey! I just found your blog tonight through hype searching for the kings of convenience – weight of my words (four tet remix). Oh Erlend Oye.
And so basically we are musical soul mates and I’ve been working my way through your posts for the last 45 minutes. Enjoying experiencing some new tunes from groups like this, pants yell! and impossible hair. Very nifty. If I may, I will suggest to you another wicked girl trio from my edge of the pond called Explode Into Colors (I think they should be Explode! Into Colors). They are major digital snobs, but I do have one track from a compilation if you’d like it.
I live in Portland, OR and run around telling everyone! that everything good comes from Sweden.
So pleased to find a fellow believer. C:
Thanks Raquel and yay for musical soul mates! I’ll definitely check out that recommendation
