knight-school

Since we mentioned a couple of Brooklyn indiepop bands in the previous post, I figured it would be best to give a mention to Knight School before I completely forget to again.

This three-piece band recently released a 14 song LP on LostMusic Records, a label from the folks behind the highly influential, but recently closed down indiepop blog Indie-MP3.  They also happened to release the Moscow Olympics/The Morning Paper 7″ split single not too long ago.

The album titled The Poor and Needy Need To Party runs at only a little over 24 minutes, so each song is quick and straight to the point, as there’s rarely a track that goes over two minutes.  The lo-fi production the record feels very genuine as you listen to it, as the guitars play with a buzz and are about as fuzzy as you would expect from a band that comes straight out of the NME ‘C86′ cassette mold.
