I posted on The Miserable Rich back when I first heard of them, but then I let them slip under my radar for a bit. Turns out that they put out their debut album, Twelve Ways To Count, late last year. There may already be several bands that do chamber-pop indie rock, but I definitely feel that the Miserable Rich do it very well. The string parts are the highlight here, but the melodies and vocals carry their weight as well. So, if swelling strings and acoustic guitars are your thing, you should definitely check this album out.

a great album for sure but if you like this sound then you could do worse than to seek out one of Ben & Jason’s albums on Amazon. chamber pop, indie rock done just as well, if not better, finer lyrics & 10 years earlier. it’d be nice to see the Miserable Rich have a bit of fame but after B&Js quiet wallow in the success pond it would seem unlikely ..
I’ll check them out! Thanks!
