Yes, more videos.  Normally not the sort of thing I would post, then again, I did post about Wes Anderson’s previous commercial for American Express a few years back.  I really have no problem with a director like Anderson working on something like this, as it still allows them to be somewhat creative while still putting a little extra cash in their pocket.

In this Japanese cell phone ad, Wes Anderson directs Brad Pitt, who seems to be working with every big-name filmmaker you could possibly think of right now.  The following spot is a nod to Jacques Tati’s M. Hulot’s Holiday and his Monsieur Hulot character.* As typical with anything involving Wes Anderson, there’s always a song that seems to fit perfectly.  In this instance, France Gall’s “Poupée de cire poupée de son,” written by Serge Gainsbourg.

*I would’ve never known this unless I had looked it up.
