Something that I find myself doing less and less nowadays in regards to blogging is reading emails. When I first started this blog and received my first handful of emails, I was ecstatic that someone would actually send me their stuff to listen to. Those times were new and exciting, and I would read nearly every piece of email that would come my way. This was when I actually had time to do this, and my inbox wasn’t the overflowing mess that it is now. Usually, around every month or so, I look at my email and say to myself that I will actually give time to reading these, but a half hour later end up running way like a scared little puppy from the shark-infested waters that is my inbox.
Well, today was one of those days, and I have decided once again to comb through the emails to see what gems I could find. The result of an hour of culling through the mess is from a one-man project from Montreal, Quebec called Under Electric Light. Right off the bat, I wanted to check this out just because I liked the name. What about the music, though? Not bad at all, really. The music certainly fits the name, as the man behind this dream-pop sound, Danny Provencher, takes all of his musical influences to heart as they’re all evident with noticeable melodies akin to the likes of New Order and The Radio Dept. He currently has three self-released EPs available now, which you can snag off iTunes.

“Night Out” is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I fell like it is dying for a remix. I wish I had the skills…
Definitely agree on it working as a remix. I could also just listen to these as instrumentals as well, though, the vocals are just fine, too.
That’s funny about the email! I was the same way when I started blogging – happy as hell that people were actually contacting me, wanting me to post their music. Like you, my inbox just overflows and I can’t even come close to getting to all of it.
I do feel guilty, though!
Wow, you’re a good man. I don’t even attempt to read the PR emails I get.
Then again, I guess that means I miss stuff like this.
