Well, hopefully everyone’s lives are heading back to normal after a crazy election season. But rather than wax philosophical on last night’s events, I should get right back to doing what we do best here on the Yellow Stereo, and that’s of course talking about good music.
A short but sweet little disc I’ve been enjoying on my walk to campus lately has been Samples by Prince Edward Island’s The Danks. I can’t say this band does anything new, but in a lot of ways they remind me of what made the Strokes so much fun back in 2000 or Tokyo Police Club on their first couple of EPs. This is no-frills indie rock with great melodies. As their myspace proclaims, “We’re not your grandma’s band, but she’d like us.” Enjoy!
