Got a somewhat short, but solid week of releases headlined by Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan’s second collaboration together Sunday at Devil Dirt, Belle and Sebastians’ The BBC Sessions, Anathallo’s Canopy Glow, and i’ll go ahead and throw this in cos I used to love the hell out of Stereophonics, a best of album (that just feels odd to type). As always, feel free to recommend anything else that may have slipped beneath the cracks.

Im lovin the album Keepers. Thanks for puttin up here. Also the stereophonics is good too;)
have you listened to the new anathallo album? i’m curious, but kind of hesitant. they have the talent to put out a really amazing album should they be inspired. ‘floating world’ was pretty good, but there was too many lulls in it to make it a great release, in my opinion. so what’s TDS’s verdict on the new one? comparisons?
I just realized Anathallo is not on the Graboid, dunno how I let that slip.
Anyways, i’ve probably listened to half of ‘Canopy Glow’ on Hype Machine, and pretty much would recommend it just based off that. It’s got wonderful harmonies as Matt Joynt and Erica Froman’s vocals just mesh very well together. Plus, everything i’ve heard has just been downright beautiful. So yeah, i’m going to see if I have it in this mess of a promo pile. Otherwise, i’ll just buy it.
I only listened to a little bit of ‘Floating World,’ as a friend of mine was really big on them. I liked “Hanasakajijii (Part 4: A Great Wind, More Ash),” but it wasn’t enough for me to really check out the entire thing. Can’t really compare the two cos of that. I’m just looking at the new album as it’s own entity.
we love your daily graboid over at kickin’ the peanuts! we look forward to them every week!! keep up the good work!
I still haven’t picked up Anathallo, but I’ve had that Deastro album from eMusic for a while, and it’s definitely worth a listen.
