In case you happened to miss it this past Friday, Pitchfork premiered a stream of “Oh No,” the first track from Andrew Bird’s upcoming new album, Noble Beast. As you would expect, the song is wonderful. What’s that old saying? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it? Well, that certainly applies here. From the whistling (can never have enough of that), to the breezy, summer time kind of vibe to the song. No matter what this man does, he’ll always be a musician that instantly commands my attention.
The new album will be out on Fat Possum on January 27, and despite what Bird himself has to say about the new album, i’m sure it will be quite good if this song is any indication. I swear, i’d probably give my right kidney to whistle like that. Actually…no I wouldn’t. I still want to whistle like that, though!
