When PJ did a post on the Eardrums compilations, not only did I find two collections of great pop, but I found one of the best websites out there for indie pop from all over the world. Seriously, if you haven’t been to Eardrums, head on over now!
Anyways, one of my favorite finds from those compilations is Johan Heltne from Sweden, arguably the world capital of indie pop goodness. His album, Vetenskapliga Bevis För Att Jesus Lever, is unique from most Swedish pop that makes it to the states in that it is actually in Swedish. But, in all the other ways, it’s exactly what you want from Swedish pop- rich acoustic sounds and great melodies.
