Ah, Sigur Rós. Every time a new album is on the way, the anticipation builds. This is, of course, related to their knack for making great albums, but it also has to do with their ability to put on a truly transcendent live show. As otherworldly as their music is on album, I can say that live it just puts you on a whole other plane. Add that to the fact that their new album, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, is a great blend of joyous bursts of melody and classic Sigur Rós epics that are sure to translate into a great concert. The album is available for pre-order with the album being available to download now on the band’s site, or you can just wait until next Tuesday to pick it up at a store near you that’s not too squeamish about excessively white guys running naked on the cover of their merchandise.
And finally, the tour dates, via Stereogum. Hopefully they add more for all of you over in Georgia!

they need to come to philadelphia too! :^(
no Atlanta date? WTF. I hope Bonnaroo didn’t count as a southeast date. No way I was going to that just for them.
it really blows my mind that there are only these 2 lame comments about these amazing tour dates, rather than feeling blessed to have these incredible musicians to grace us with their presence for so many shows…to them i say thank you, and we can’t wait to see you over & over! the late night bonnaroo set was completely devastating in the best way possible, i left feeling intoxicated…and i did go to bonnaroo just to see them…and it was more than worth it.
love & light to sigur ros…& thanks!
Well Faz, i’ve already seen them perform twice, and a huge setting like Bonnaroo is not my ideal environment to experience them again. I’m already planning on flying all the way to Berkeley to see them, so hopefully you sleep better knowing that.
Chinatown bus to NYC it is…
