It isn’t often that I instantly hear a song and completely latch onto it. Where I feel this overwhelming need to find out whatever information I can get my hands on. That was the case when I first heard a track off the recently released album from Ponies in the Surf, the sibling duo of Camille and Alexander McGregor. Currently out of Cambridge, MA – though originally they’re from Bogota, Colombia; which according to Camille, “defined us the most…not really living where we should have can be a defining trait, you know?” The group delves into the finer recesses of the pop landscape with a delicate and understated ease, while also maintaining a sophisticated pan-american folk sound.  It’s just the sort of music you want to kick back and relax to during these early days of summer.

“We think music is the most beautiful and profound thing possible in this world, and we try our best not to commit too many crimes against it.”

Ponies in the Surf’s new album, See You Happy, is currently out now on Darla. The first 1000 copies come with a limited edition bonus disc, featuring six of the duo’s all-time favorite classics, along with two demos. Their previous album, Ponies On Fire, is available on Asaurus for only $5.
