Well, most of us all got excited when the Verve got back together. Now, we have actual proof that they plan to make some music together in the song “Love is Noise.” It’s a different sound for the Verve, but it still has those trademark vocals and strong melodies. Listen for yourself at their myspace, and let the excitement (or dissapointment) begin…

I love The Verve, but i’m not feeling this song at all. :(

I’m not sold, but I’ve only listened once. I’ll give it a few more goes, then probably make sure not to hold any serious judgment until the album comes around…

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT – my favourite band – destroyed in 3 minutes – it’s so flat and middle of the road it’s not funny. Where has their edge gone? It sounds like its produced by s club 7. And somehow they’ve even managed to make ashcrofts voice sound ordinary?? The drums are god awful. Lyrics are poor imitations of former glories.
Put this next to This Is Music or any of their singles and it falls down on every single level. WHERE THE F&&K IS NICK MCABE – I CAN’T EVEN HEAR HIM -aaaaaahhhhhhhhh – i’m going home to close the windows and turn on the gas – its that bad.

Ooou… Here we go :) I have to say this is risky venture for them. They beautifully now that answers like above will pour in masse. Well, new Verve probably won’t be for everyone, but they seem to be very sure about what they do. And that is what sold me.

Song rocks my socks off. At first, I was confused, but in second time, I was trully blown away. Great drumming, synths (hey, Kraftwerk is there!), and one of coolest Verve videos. Yes, it is collage, and can be interpreted in many ways, but it has very strangely beautiful imaginery.

Just heard “Love Is Noise” on XM Stereo and was very surprised to see it was The Verve. But on first listen, I dig it! Kudos to them for their courage in trying different sounds! Can’t wait to hear more.
