I’m actually wide awake this morning, something I haven’t been able to do in weeks it seems.  What a way to kick of an otherwise typical Monday than with this downright beautiful song that was posted on Gorilla vs. Bear recently from Portland’s Grouper, aka Liz Harris.  I’m not really familiar with her music, so any kind of useful information is some what scarce.  Her new third album, Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill, was recently released on the newly revived Type Records.

Though i’ve only been listening to this one track, my interest in picking up this album has already increased tenfold.  The sound seems to be entrenched in waves of dream-pop, and hopefully the album brings more of that same vibe.  Hopefully, i’ll have more to say about this one once I get my hands on the album.  In the meantime, give a listen to “Heavy Water/I’d Rather Be Sleeping” and just instantly fall in love with it like I have.  You can stream more tracks on her myspace page.
