The Graboid is back once again this week, and thankfully, on it’s regularly scheduled day of the week. Lots of great albums this week including new releases from The Wedding Present, Mates of State, French Kicks, and Islands. I checked out a few tracks from Scarlett Johansson’s much publicized album of Tom Waits covers, and damn…this is not good at all. Not that i’ve been hearing a lot of good press in regards to it in the first place, but I still wanted to see if this was as bad as everyone says it is. Anywho, what else can you recommend this week that I may have missed?

    Apparently their label that I got the mp3 from has it listed as “My.” It’s their mistake! :p

    im actually enjoying scarlett johanssons album.. mind, i havent really listened to that much tom waits so i dont really have anything to compare the covers against. the original “song for jo” i like, and i very much like “falling down”. plus, dave sitek from tv on the radio, nick zinner from yeah yeah yeahs and david bowie all contributed!
