To be honest, I’ve never been a fan of Nine Inch Nails, but when I saw that Trent Reznor is giving away his new album on his website in Radiohead fashion, I decided I’d check it out. I’ve only sampled a few songs here and there, and I can’t say I’m sold, but hey, it’s free. The free download comes in MP3, FLAC, Apple Lossless, and better-than-CD WAV files (for the audiophiles). So, for the NIN fans out there, or those like me who are just curious, head on over to theslip.nin.com. Below is one track that, for me, becomes a whole lot more interesting when the pianos come in…

I went for years not caring about NIN…but somehow over the last few years online, Trent Reznor is getting more relevant.

  2. i have tried to get the free download of the ’slip’ three times and still haven’t received it

NIN are a band that don’t require 1 listen, they require a few. The Slip is no different. Listen to it 2-3 times, listen to something else for a few days then come back for another try. If you don’t like it after that, fair game. They’re certainly not as accessible as, say, Coldplay, but their music is just as rewarding.
