Some bands don’t offer anything new whatsoever, but they still manage to grab your ear and keep you listening. This Is Ivy League is one of those bands, fitting into the gentle acoustic sounds you’d hear from Kings of Convenience or Simon and Garfunkel. The duo recorded their self-titled debut in their apartments, and for the most part keeps things really simple- mostly love songs built with acoustic guitars, sweet harmonies. The album is short and sweet, clocking in at under 40 minutes, which is probably a good thing- music like this is best enjoyed in short bursts. “London Bridges” is definitely the album highlight, and if it leaves you wanting more I recommend the whole album… Enjoy!

I knew that I heard “London Bridges” somewhere before, and sure enough, we covered this band in 2006 when they were just called Ivy League. Guess a change of name does the trick, haha.

Yeah… I guess they had to change their name due to a UK 60’s band named Ivy League that got back together…
