My interview can beat up your interview

Really, do you want to read another interview asking about the band’s origins, and what inspires them and blah blah blah blah. I submit that you do not! So when I talked to Middle Distance Runner bassist, Ian Glinka, I asked him the questions that REALLY matter.

Are Tribbles really that troublesome? Really?
Yes. They multiply like crazy and always end up getting stuck in your spaceship’s warp engines. That is a bad thing and it breaks your spaceship

Are Vulcans really that practical and unemotional or are they just misunderstood?

When Picard mind-melded with Sarek, it was clear that Vulcans do posses (and suppress) a lot of emotions, but Vulcan or not, I think if your hair only grew in a bowl cut, you’d have to suppress a lot of emotions, too.

What’s your sign?

Pisces.

Which Captain would you rather have guiding your Enterprise?

Picard. No contest.

Put together your fantasy team crew. Go.

I’d take everybody from TNG, but I’d probably drop Troi.

Which season is your favorite and why?

This sounds bad, but ever since Gene Roddenberry died (i think at the end of season 2 or during season 3), the show really seemed to break away from some of its tendencies to regurgitate the tackiness of the Original Series.

Is this the only thing you do with your free time?

Yup.

Are you one of those convention people or do they just creep you out?

I’ve never been to a convention, but I’d love to go some day. I was Will Riker for Halloween in 2006. I used to live in Las Vegas, and the Hilton there has a Star Trek themed bar, casino, and two rides where you get to experience beaming up to the Enterprise, taking a turbolift ride to the bridge, and then embarking on a magical journey through space in a shuttlecraft. Amazing.

Ha.

Do you prefer Data or Lore?

Data. Lore is a real jerk.

What are you completely offended that I didn’t ask you that everyone should know?

Question: What’s the name of the episode where the crystalline entity comes down to that planet and kills everything and everybody has to hide in the cave and it’s really tense?
