After returning home from work last night, I jumped on my computer to check out my daily perusal of sites and happened to come across a few tracks from the upcoming M83 record, courtesy of Kissatlanta. I’ve known about Anthony Gonzales’ latest venture since late December, but had held off on listening to anything until now. Immediately after picking up the tracks, I decided to go outside, just as sky began to fall into the night, to really absorb these new songs.

One of the tracks in particular, “Too Late,” completely blew me away as I began to hear the delicate, almost haunting sounds as it slowly seeped through my headphones, and I continued to walk around for what would seem like hours. As Preston mentions on his blog, this may very well be one of the most beautiful M83 songs that I have had the pleasure of hearing. It’s one of those truly magnificent songs that can be listened to repeatedly, as each listen seems to meld into the next – creating one prolonged moment in time.

There are just so many memories and emotions associated with listening to Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts and Before the Dawn Heals Us, that my anticipation for this new record is almost unbearable. If you’re curious to hear more, check out Kissatlanta for another track off Saturdays = Youth, which is due out in a couple of weeks on April 15th.
