I haven’t kept up too well with a lot of the releases this week, but there are a few obvious names that stand out. Those being Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks’ Real Emotional Trash and The Gutter Twins’ (Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan) Saturnalia. I also plan on checking out White Hinterland’s Phylactery Factory, as everything that i’ve heard so far has been excellent. I’ve heard that her (Casey Dienel) debut back in 2006 is pretty solid, so that might be something to check out as well if you dig the new moniker.
Let’s see what else….new stuff from Born Ruffians, What Made Milwaukee Famous, Cadence Weapon, and Mia Doi Todd? It’s almost a constant struggle to keep up with everything from week to week, but I can never complain about having too much music to listen to. Anything else worth checking out? I hope I haven’t left anything off.
