Yeasayer’s All Hour Cymbals has been one of the albums that just keeps finding its way to my headphones since I got it late last year. There’s just something about their blend of, well, everything that I can’t get enough of. So, when I got an email from Drowned in Sound today saying that they have posted the new Yeasayer video, I was interested. Then they mentioned it’s a rerecorded version that will be on an upcoming single (due March 10). The video, not too surprisingly, looks like Yeasayer sounds- trippy technicolor animation of apples, beetles, and tribal silhouettes. The new recording of the song also gets a big thumbs up- it’s a clearer recording that allows all of the melodies and different instruments to shine through. It’s a worthy reworking, and I’m looking forward to the single next month… until then, enjoy the video here.

EDIT: You can find a bigger, easier to see version of the video here at Stereogum.

For those of you who may not have been hit by the hype train last time is passed by, here are a couple of Yeasayer’s tracks:

“Sunrise”Yeasayer

“2080″Yeasayer

And a Yeasayer Daytrotter Session
