Yeah, it’s been remixed like crazy, but one great thing about Radiohead’s In Rainbows is the relatively simple nature of the songs that lends them to such wide-ranging reinterpretations. Of the remixes to come out thus far, Amplive’s batch of Rainydayz Remixes takes the most hip-hop approach; he slices, dices, and rearranges, leaving the essence of the song intact but definitely giving them a bit more bump. Be forewarned, if you hate hip hop you’ll probably find these blasphemous, especially since a few rappers guest on some of the mixes (including two of my favorites, Del the Funky Homosapien and Chali 2na). But, if you’re like me and like some cross-genre madness that definitely shows Amplive’s love for Radiohead’s music, it’s all available as a free download. It’s not perfect, but it has enough good stuff for me to want to share it… I’ve put a couple of my favorites, including “Weird Fishez,” which builds on the looping nature of the original, and the R&B reimagining of “15 Stepz.”
