The Helio Sequence :: “Keep Your Eyes Ahead”
Posted by PJ in The Yellow Stereo, Upcoming
It’s been nearly four years since the Helio Sequence released Love and Distance, the Portland duo’s third album, which was released by Sub Pop. To be honest, the promise of a new album looked bleak, but thankfully the boys are set to release their new record Keep Your Eyes Ahead later this month on the 29th.
I’ve had the title track, which is available courtesy of Sub Pop, on repeat throughout the weekend and it already looks like a sign of a huge change in sound. Gone in this track are the familiar electronics, which have been replaced with big guitars sounds to create a grand and polished pop song.

Off topic a bit, it’s kind of nice to be jumping right into 2008 music. Typically, I find myself stuck in the beginning of the year still listening to the previous year’s music. I end up feeling like I have to catch up, but hopefully i’m able to stay on top of this things. What albums are all of you looking forward to so far this year? I finally got my hands on the new Magnetic Fields record, and damn it’s sounding really good so far.
