Finally! The very first Daily Graboid of 2008! The releases this week are a bit slim, but this month as a whole is set to start the year off with a flurry of great albums. I can definitely recommend picking up the Juno soundtrack, as it contains a lot of decent acoustic tracks from the likes of Kimya Dawson, Belle & Sebastian and Cat Power. I’m still not sure if I love the actual movie, but the soundtrack works well enough on it’s own.
I haven’t heard much else this week, though I would probably check out Sia’s Some People Have Real Problems, as i’ve liked the few songs i’ve heard so far. Anything else out this week that I may have missed? Let me know!

Juno :: Music From The Motion Picture
“Anyone Else But You” :: The Moldy Peaches

Marah :: Angels of Destruction!

Kate Nash :: Made Of Bricks

The Shondes :: The Red Sea
“Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”

Sia :: Some People Have Real Problems

Wisely :: Wisely

i put that kate nash song on my sisters mix cd and chuckled because i put a star next to it- meaning it’s not child friendly. though i’d love to hear my nieces and nephew swear sweetly with an accent.
Saw the Moldy Peaches several years ago at a yacht club in Nottingham. It was one massive, raucous, trippy sing-along. Certainly one of by favorite shows yet… The speaker towers were swaying and everyone was bouncing around and the band were all dressed up animals. Fan-freakin-tastic.
