The new Goldfrapp record, Seventh Tree, hasn’t exactly been on my radar at all, as I feel as though i’m part of the contingent that needs a break from the dirty club anthems of past albums Black Cherry and Supernature. Though if Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory are indeed intending to take a step back to their original sound, than i’m certainly willing to have a listen.
This new video for the first single “A&E” looks to be making a strong case in that favor, even though I kind of feel distracted with how hilariously bad the video is. It almost feels like watching some reject Björk video, as the leaf costume guys prance around Alison. You can do as I did though, and just play this awesome Hercules & Love Affair remix over it.
The new album, due out on Mute, is set to hit stores on February 26th.

I love this video…its really earthy and a departure from the more edgy electronica music and imagery from previous work which I also like. I think its a new take on an old direction. The video is simple and natural just like the song….give it another chance man.
