First off, I’m back from my little holiday break! Expect more from me again from now on…
Well, as was seen on my year-end list, LCD Soundsystem’s Sound of Silver was one of the albums that really grabbed me this year. Another old post found me praising the Main Drag, an unsigned Boston band that I expect to do big things (and has already made one solid debut album). Since both groups have one foot firmly planted in the electronic world and the other in the land of rock, it’s only fitting that the Main Drag do an excellent cover of LCD’s “All My Friends.” It was done as part of cokemachineglow’s Fantasy Podcast, and this track delivers. It takes the original and moves more in a guitar-driven direction, but not without synthesized accents and a myriad of new touches that make this a worthy cover. Check it out, and enjoy!
Download the Main Drag’s cover of “All My Friends” here… but know that I wouldn’t go as far as the poster there as to say the cover is better than original…

YA WOOO
wow, that’s quite a statement to make…
It’s good.. but it’s nothing on one of the best song’s of ‘07
Yeah, like I said, I disagree with the guy over at cokemachineglow on it being better than the original… because it’s not. It’s what I love in a cover though: a great interpretation of a great song.
