I wasn’t expecting to be putting up another Daily Graboid this year, as I was certain that there were no new releases that were worth looking at. This week proved me wrong, as there are three great albums that I highly recommend purchasing. In fact, these are so excellent that it’s really possible that these could be on my year-end list. Two of these are live albums and i’m trying to debating whether or not they would count as choices, but each of them are so good that i’m really leaning towards putting them in.

These two lives albums being Rufus Wainwright’s Rufus Does Judy At Carnegie Hall and Daft Punk’s Alive 2007. Each of these have accompanying DVDs of their respective live performance as well. The other album I highly recommend is Alison Statton from Pants Yell!, which you can read more about here. The only negative I have about this release is that I wish it wasn’t released so late into the year. It’s fantastic, but I just wanted more time with it to actually consider it for my year-end list, because it’s really that good. The same would go for the other two, but i’ve heard bootlegs of the Rufus performance and i’ve had Alive 2007 for about a month now.

Anything else that I may have missed from this week or previous weeks? Let me know!

I wish the Daft Punk track was more than 1 minute long… Wah wah wah.

Loving this site though. You’ve introduced me to so many fantastic artists! Thanks!
