Back in August, I posted up North American tour dates for The Pipettes which would’ve ended as of Nov. 1st. Due to some Visa issues, a majority of the dates were postponed and now their October 16 date at the Vinyl in Atlanta has been moved to this Friday (November 9th). This is actually a good thing for me, as i’ll be making it out to the show that night – my first trip up to atlanta in a very long time. I’m really excited, plus the news of Nicole Atkins opening is just icing on the cake. Are any of you Atlanta folks coming to this? I would love to meet some of you! Let me know.
According to their myspace page, The Pipettes will also have an in-store performance at Criminal Records right before their show that night. Sounds like a good night!

Damn, I have been frequenting The Yellow Stereo, and have still found myself surprised everytime you’ve made a reference to being in Atlanta lately. I moved to Athens for school this year, and being away from the city and its concerts is killing me. Athens’ music scene is alright, but it is definitely not the same, being 2 hours away!
I haven’t been to Athens enough to have an opinion, but there seems to always be a decent show every so often. Though being here in Auburn, I feel more comfortable driving to Atlanta over Athens. I have to be very picky with shows because of the distance, so I end up only going to a few shows every couple of months.
How far is Auburn from Atlanta? Are there any decent shows at all in Auburn? I’m willing to bet Athens is like heaven comparatively. I was thinking I wouldn’t get to shows in Atlanta much anymore, being 2 hours away and not having a car, but I’m going to two next week alone, so I guess it isn’t that bit of an issue.
About 2 hours away i think. There are never any good shows here haha. Unless you like jam bands. What shows are you going to?
