Sitting down tonight to put together this week’s edition of The Daily Graboid (a day late, sorry), it dawned on me how close we are to the end of year already. It’s hard to believe, but as each chilly night reinforces that fact, the more we’ll begin to notice the dwindling amount of good album releases. I’m sure there will be a few gems here and there, but for now the geek in me is focusing on the onslaught of video game releases (hello Super Mario Galaxy, COD4, Rock Band and Mass Effect) that are already making my wallet weep. I’ll keep to the music though, as there are a few great releases that you would be wise to pick up this week.
I’ve mentioned Sigur Rós plenty of times this week along with their double EP Hvarf/Heim which was released on Tuesday. I think there may be a screening of the band’s documentary somewhere in Alabama in the coming weeks, i’ll fill in the details as soon as I find out. Also out this week is Grizzly Bear’s Friend EP, though I haven’t heard all of it – I can definitely recommend based off the few tracks i’ve heard so far. Other albums worth mentioning include White Williams’ Smoke, Richard Youngs’ Autumn Response and Wild Sweet Orange’s Whale EP (5-piece from Birmingham, AL). Anything else worth checking out?

Sigur Ros’ release is pure, unadulterated beauty, as usual. The acoustic disc is just plain pretty…
Brilliant!
