Sigur Rós is a band that will always hold a deep and special place in my heart. From the moment I first discovered them on an old HBO concert show many years ago (the name escapes my memory), to when I saw them perform at The Tabernacle in 2003 – which is still to this day the most amazing concert i’ve ever attended. Witnessing this band perform in person is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lives. It’s an experience that has moved me like no other, to the point that i was drawn to tears. If their upcoming film Heima can offer even a small taste of that experience, than it should be definitely seen by as many people as possible.
The film, which i’m not too sure about regarding a release date, documents various gigs in Iceland that came after a long stint of international tours. Expect lots of beautiful images and scenery along with seeing a truly talented band work their magic. To coincide with the film release, there will also be a new double album coming out next week titled Hvarf, that include five new songs, and six live versions of old songs. You can listen to a new track called “Hljomalind” below, which is simply beautiful and really shines towards the latter half of the track as the loud ringing of that guitar can be heard along with Jónsi’s signature howling in the background.

“Reverb” was the show. I quite liked it. I wonder why it was axed.
