The boys of Hot Chip are offering up a freebie download of a new track called “I Became A Volunteer.” I think most people I know are sick of them and I thought I was too for a while until “My Piano” (off their DJ-Kicks record) started to dominate my headphones for an extended period of time earlier in the year. This new track isn’t nearly as good, but it’s something new at least before we hear new material from their next album Made in the Dark, which is due out sometime in February.
The catch to downloading the track is that you have to sign-up for their mailing list. I did the work for you though and have the track here for a limited download. If it expires, you’ll just have to sign-up for yourself.

Yeah, the track was on their myspace page for a long time. But, they just now made it available as a downloadable track.
Is I Became A Volunteer up somewhere else? The link is telling me the download limit has been reached. Sad…
