With Radiohead’s In Rainbows being the current talk of the music world and all that jazz, let’s not forget there were some great new album releases this week. One album in particular that i’ve been really quick to praise ever since I received an advanced copy a while back is Jens Lekman’s Night Falls Over Kortedala. Really solid, but it’s kind of been lost in the shuffle as of late with all of these other releases. I also happened to check out Beirut’s The Flying Club Cup, which took me forever to even acknowledge it’s existence, let alone listen to it for reasons i’ll explain in a later post possibly. As usual though, I was wrong to ignore the album as it’s a huge improvement over Gulag Orkestrar.

I haven’t really had a chance to check out anything else, but three albums i’m really looking forward to digging into soon are the Fiery Furnaces’ Widow City, The Octopus Project’s Hello, Avalanche and Band Of Horses’ Cease to Begin. Have any of you heard either of these? What do you think? Lots of other nice stuff to sample as well, so hopefully you find something here that you enjoy.
