A great week for twee releases as Saturday Looks Good to Me’s Fill Up the Room and Tullycraft’s Every Scene Needs a Center could both very well be on my year-end list. I haven’t heard all of the Tullycraft record yet, but I will be picking this one up before I head to work today. Other notable releases include Ryan Adams’ (yawn..) Follow the Lights EP, Prefuse 73’s Preparations and Ween’s La Cucaracha.
While digging through these free m3s, i’ve come away with really liking what i’ve heard from The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir, which I wasn’t expecting this type of sound with a band name like that. I’m pretty much digging everything that’s on the Graboid this week.
I normally don’t cover reissues that come out every week, but there were quite a few released including two (Start a People and Falling Through a Field) from Black Moth Super Rainbow, Neko Case’s The Virginian, Of Montreal’s If He Is Protecting Our Nation… Who Is Protecting Big Oil, Our Children? and The Besnard Lakes’ Vol. 1.
