I was very surprised to find out yesterday that the Norwegian singer-songwriter Sondre Lerche released a soundtrack album for the upcoming movie Dan In Real Life. It’s very much in the same vein of About A Boy’s soundtrack that was completely scored by Badly Drawn Boy.
I consider Sondre a unique and very under-appreciated artist, but sometimes it’s difficult to defend his music when his albums are so terribly inconsistent. I’ve listened to some of the tracks, which include a few off previous albums and overall gears towards his jazz influence that was prominent on his album Duper Sessions with the Faces Down Quartet. There’s also a great little duet with Regina Spektor that is down below for you to check out.
About the actual movie Dan In Real Life? Well, I watched the trailer and noticed that hack comedian Dane Cook is in it. He’s like movie kryptonite and should be avoided at all costs. The end.

Steve Corell and Sondre Lerche = Awesome but Dane Cook = Pass.
I love that song – thankyou so much, it’s awesome.
Umm actually TWO WAY MONOLOGUE is pretty amazing, even if not very apparent immediately. The duet is cute.
Two Way Monologue has two or three amazing singles, and the rest of the album just struggles to keep up with that kind of momentum sadly. His debut is still untouchable.
