Another album i’ve been listening A LOT this week is the recent release of Simian Mobile Disco’s Attack Decay Sustain Release. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to sit down and listen to it, but I can definitely say without a doubt that this is easily one of the best dance records you’ll hear all year. Though a lot of these have been floating around the internet for months, there are at least five brand new songs on the album. There’s a nice variety of sounds on the album that range from hard dance beats and vocalized tracks to dreamy electronica ala Röyksopp. It’s just a nice alternative to all of this glitch beat craze that’s currently going on.

I’ve featured their many remixes and such since I first discovered them last year, but I honestly never knew anything about the group. I went digging around and found out that the duo of James Ford and James Anthony Shaw were originally known as Simian. Come on, you know! They did that song “Never Be Alone” that was remixed by Justice that was all over the place last year. Anyways, definitely check this album out. It’s well worth your time.

You know, I’m seriously at the point where I see Justice or Hot Chip mentioned in a post and I just zone out. Really bored with that stuff. Haven’t listened to this album yet, but I might. They’ve gotten me that far.

    Rich,
Maybe you should step out of your re-mix box and look at more artists. Justice is an amazing live duo. Don’t hate the DJ, hate the remix.
