haale.jpgLast Friday, October 5th, I was fortunate to have the New York based artist Haale in to do a live in-studio performance and interview at the radio station I work for, WMSR . The interview was done by Jane Frye, a DJ for the station and also a local writer. The interview was incredible, and turned out really great. Hopefully I can make these In-studio gigs something of a regular thing for local artists in the coming months.

Haale (Haale Gafori) is proclaimed to be “psychadelic sufi-trance rock”, and she brings a good mix of influences from her Persian background as well as growing up in the United States. She is backed by Matt Kilmer on percussion.

Haale has two EPs out currently, one called “Paratrooper” and the other titled “Morning” . Each of the EP’s has five tracks, and is available for purchase via CDbaby and her website.

Haale is currently on tour for a few more dates in upstate New York and Vermont, and then will take time off for a new LP, expected to be out sometime near spring in 2008. So check out her website and myspace page, and look for more great singing/songwriting soon.

For some reason the file sounds fine on my computer, but when I upload it, it sounds all chipmunky. More on this later

I think it has to do with the bitrate. Try ripping it to something at 128kbit or higher. Should work fine after that.
