With the beginning of Fall fast approaching, i’m hoping that all of this incredibly hot weather will end. It’s especially terrible for me because I tend to wear winter clothes. Thankfully, the last of these days are easily dealt with due to an incredible month of album releases. As you can see with this week, there are a ton of albums to sample.
One album that I can’t recommend enough is the second full-length Proof of Youth from The Go! Team. I’ve been playing this non-stop since I heard it a few weeks ago and it doesn’t disappoint. A great sophomore follow-up that manages to fulfill my expectations. Others albums i’m really enjoying include the Black Lips’ Good Bad Not Evil, Simian Mobile Disco’s Attack Decay Sustain Release and a nice EP compiliation from Mono.
Last but not least are two former leadsingers in Victoria Bergsman (The Concretes) and Emma Pollock (The Delgados), both of whom released solo albums this week. There’s no excuses folks, there has to be at least something you want to pick up this week. So let’s hear it!

Emma Pollock, Go! Team, and Pinback are a few I’m loving so far. Everything I’ve heard from the new Hot Hot Heat makes my heart sad. It seem they’ve lost their way. *Sniff*
Oh, and if anyone can convince me, I may give Animal Collective another shot. I’ve bought and honestly tried to like their last two, but neither of them did anything for me…
The new Animal Collective does nothing for me either. Just too experimental for my tastes.
The new AC is to wicked man! It’s the best album of the year. For this week my 2nd favorites are Autumn Of Seraphs and Good Bad Not Evil and maybe Graduation from Kanye
.
I’ve got a post about great September albums here and I’m particularly liking PJ Harvey, St. Vincent, BSS’s Kevin Drew, the new Siouxsie album, Cadence Weapon and a couple of compilations (Andy Weatherall, Ewan Pearson).
Love the Simian Mobile Disco album, especially the single ‘It’s the Beat’, very old skool/Technotronic inspired.
The Emma Pollack album is lovely, this is a brilliant year for great albums by women.
404 Kanye not found.
Chris, don’t worry. I’m actually planning a review of the new Kanye… because I’m loving it.
you think i’d post a kanye mp3 here? i’m not that desperate for hits.
You should be objective
