For the last couple of weeks I’ve been enjoying Pinback’s latest, Autumn of the Seraphs. It’s out on September 11, just like a billion albums, but I don’t think it should be lost in the shuffle. The album is another disc of solid indie pop with a hip hop beat, like we’d expect from Pinback.
To be honest, I hoped Pinback would push their sound a bit more, but perhaps the only change in style is a shift towards a more upbeat sound. However, there are certain albums that, once the slight disappointment wears off you find a gem that’s far greater than your initial impression. It’s just a solid album from start to finish with melodies and beats to boot.
The first single, “From Nothing to Nowhere,” is perhaps the most “mainstream” track on the disc. My personal favorite is “Good to Sea,” a song that worked its way into my brain and has stayed there for quite a while. Oh, and don’t let the not-so-great cover art deter you, it’s good stuff. Check it out, and enjoy!

From Nothing To Nowhere is just great, the video is super as well. Too bad the LP won’t be getting too much attention, as it will be released in a extremely busy week.
That is one scary Album Cover.
“Good to Sea” is pretty good, I dig. Thanks Pablo
