There has been a lot of new music released to the public over the last couple of weeks, and like the previous time I did post something similar to this – I decided to compile some of it here. Plus, today is my birthday! I think a few people were confused and thought it was a few days ago when Eric posted his birthday mix. Sorry about that! No birthday mix from me this time around, but this post will have to do.

These new Rogue Wave tracks have been all over the internet this week and damn these sound so good. This actually deserves it’s own post, but were included in this post just for the sake of it’s theme. Their previous album Descended Like Vultures was such a great discovery for me and with all the trials and tribulations the group has had to endure since that release, you just can’t help but wish the band all the success in the world once Asleep At Heaven’s Gate is released.

Pablo actually posted about the new Jens Lekman album Night Falls Over Kortadela, but I just had to mention the nice little surprise I had in my mailbox earlier in the week as my jaw dropped to the ground when I saw this album sitting there. I’ve only listened to half of the album so far, but it has been flawless. I really can’t help but smile while listening to this as the string arrangements sound amazing and were the first thing I noticed upon listening as they really do stand out. The second single “The Opposite of Hallelujah” has found numerous replays through my headphones with it’s sing-along quality and catchy chorus. I’ll probably review this one if i’m not too lazy.

This actually was brought up at work one night, albeit very briefly, though I didn’t have much to say because i’m honestly not a big fan of Devendra Banhart. I can’t stand that “freak folk” moniker that’s associated with him, which I think he doesn’t even care for himself.

OMG! I am doing my daily tour (9/26) of the Hype and I downloaded a live version of Dave Brubeck’s Take Five, and then I clicked on your mp3 of Seahorse, and damn if that Take Five groove doesn’t kick in at the 2 minute mark!
