The Pipettes | North American Debut Release & Tour News

Reading this news about the upcoming North American release of The Pipettes’ debut We Are The Pipettes is very amusing to me for two reasons. One being that I can’t believe this album hasn’t come out here yet. The other is that a thorough US tour has been announced that includes a stop here in Alabama! How funny is that? Becki, Gwenno and Rose bringing their 60s doo-wop sound to the Heart of Dixie. I’m actually laughing at the idea as I type this, but I love it!
To make up for the long-awaited arrival, the album will contain two new exclusive tracks “Dance a Boogie” and “Baby, Just Be Yourself” that you can listen to via myspace. Snazzy new cover art looks to be also included as you can see with the above image. We Are The Pipettes will be released October 2nd on Cherrytree / Interscope.

Well, I’d be more excited if I hadn’t had the album for over a year now!

I already have most of those songs from iTunes, but I love the new CD cover. The Pipettes are so great.
I still remember the little “interview” with them last year by that guy we hired over aim….hahah
shut up! I thought I’d have to wait until the release to hear either of the new songs! I’m so glad you have it, I love you forever!
P.S. they aren’t coming to St. Louis and that saddens me.
P.P.S. The new cover is cute but I like the old one, especially the random hand in the corner holding the “We Are” sign.

Ah, the Pips. Love the cover, the new tracks, and I will have to catch that show in LA!
the original cover is just so much better…
PJ, Vinyl is at the same place as Center Stage/Earthlink Live and The Loft. I think it’s at about West Peachthree and 14th (or something like that) downtown.
that cover is amazing. what a bunch of cuties. I just read a pretty funny article with Gwenno in this months issue of RAGGED. its worth a read.
