Sonicmuse Fest

Today, Madison Theater in Covington, Ky (across the river from Cincinnati, OH) will be the home to the first annual Sonicmuse Festival. This event is sponsored in part by my good friends at WOXY.com. The headliners for this event are The Hold Steady, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Matt and Kim, Birds of Avalon, and The Buffalo Killers. The latter two are not as big however. In addition to the headliners, there will be eight other bands performing throughout the day. Here is the whole lineup, with the headliners in bold (links to their myspace pages as well):

Most of the bands not in bold are from around the Cincinnati area, so this festival showcases some good local talent. Im very sad that I couldn’t make the Journey to Lollapalooza this weekend, so this is a small bit of consolation. I haven’t been able to find an exact order for the bands, but doors open at 2pm and the music starts at 3pm. Tickets are $20. It is safe to assume that the big three will close out the festival. There are two stages at least for the beginning of the day. If you do happen to get to this festival, come say hello, I will be in a Black T-Shirt (that says WMSR on it) and Jeans. I will be there throughout the day.(It made me sad to find out there is no re-entry, so once I go I am stuck there through bands I don’t particularly care to see)
