Everything has its habitat, and I think for some bands the ideal habitat is the EP. Some bands can crank out an ama
zing 20 minutes, but their sound doesn’t always work well when they stretch it to 40. I think that Welsh septet Los Campesinos! just might be the kind of band that ought to stick to the EP. Their bouncy bootyshakeable pop is somewhat akin to Architecture in Helsinki on a dose of speed and irony, and it’s infectious as can be. For about 20 minutes, their Sticking Fingers Into Sockets EP has you in throes of blissful hyperactivity. I’m not sure how they’ll do in a full-length album, however; their sound just seems ideal for small bursts. In any case, for those of you that haven’t heard them yet, I post the longest (and perhaps most indicative) track off their nice little EP. It’s been my walk-to-work soundtrack for a month now. Enjoy!

This EP is excellent. Heard them on a podcast recently and had been meaning to post about them myself! Nice one!
