Not having the internet over the weekend was somewhat of a positive thing as I was able to listen to a ton of music. It kept my sanity in check while I was moving into a new apartment, because apparently noone bothered to show up and help like they promised – so it was just me doing all the heavy lifting alone. It was just terrible to say the least. I’m sure it was quite the entertainment for any of neighbors seeing me roll couches across the grass and tearing bed mattresses to shreds from dragging them over concrete. The pain is not over as i’m still nowhere near finished. I’m just glad to have internet again.

Rambling aside, one song that has been on constant repeat is “Homecoming” from The Teenagers. I think the single has been out for a while now, but I never bothered to listen to it until now. I remember first hearing The Teenagers on their myspace page months ago, though initially I hated what I first heard from the group. I’m not completely converted, but I can’t deny how amazing this track sounds despite it’s very vulgar lyrics. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing at first, but it’s all in good fun as the track comes off as very amusing as opposed to appalling. Everytime I listen it reminds me of this twisted cross between Nada Surf’s “Popular” and The Postal Service’s “Nothing Better” with it’s male/female vocal point of views.

I don’t have a lot of info about the group, but maybe Eric can fill that in as I know he’s a big fan of their music. Check out the track below and an awesome remix of Air’s “Mer du Japon,” which I also played many times over the weekend.

Yeah Man, I’ll totally throw down an entry about them. I don’t know how much you are into remixes, but I absolutely love their remixes, especially the Simian Mobile Disco- “Its the beat” remix

Sure, it sounds like those two songs, but it’s true root is Summer Loving, from Grease.
